I take a multi-disciplinary approach in making work as bold, poignant, challenging and satisfying as possible. The mediums I utilize range from photography, animation, illustration, painting, and print-making. Throughout my art and design work I explore themes of origin, blackness, diaspora, culture and legacy.

I spent much of my childhood isolated, so making art had become my way to connect with my community and making sense of the world at large. My work is informed by the past, music, having grown up in Detroit and enriched by my travels. The aim is to exalt figures I hold in great admiration and the community at large involved with the arts, music, and culture at home. The studies of the subjects that interest and are personal to me I aim to capture and present in a way that resonates viscerally with the viewer.

Making analog-based work is crucial to how I work, and akin to my musician counterparts. Whether that’s my hand showing through the cross hatching in my illustrative style or minimalist approach to amateur film making. The dynamics of the nostalgic yet foreign, the Textures, Tones and sense of rhythm all coincides with the ethos encrypted in my work.
